Throughout the film, Miguel was conflicted about maintaining his love for both his family and music as he wanted his family to support his dreams, not wanting to become a musician without his family's blessing or walk out on them. Nevertheless, despite his rebellious temper, Miguel loved his family very much and did not enjoy arguing with those close to him or suffering their wrath.
